Pay Increase Information The Legislature approved a 1.5% general increase for all classified state employees that will be effective at the beginning of the new fiscal year. In addition, all employees hired before June 17, 2006 will be eligible for a single step increase on September 10, 2006, provided they have a performance review rating of at least satisfactory within the preceding 12 months. Employees currently on step 15 will be eligible for step movement since step 16 is being added back to the FY07 pay plan. The Legislature also approved increases for specific groups of employees that will take effect at the beginning of the fiscal year. Those additional provisions are as follows: 1) a $0.30 pay differential for employees in building trades classes with the job code suffix of “N2”; 2) an additional step increase to juvenile corrections officers in the Juvenile Justice Authority; 3) an additional step increase to employees at the Larned State Hospital who are currently receiving a differential for hazardous duty; 4) an additional step increase to uniformed corrections officers in the Department of Corrections; and 5) raising the hiring rate for entry level corrections officers by two steps, or 5%. Also, unclassified employees will be eligible for a merit increase as determined by their appointing authority. The amount provided to each agency for this increase is a total of 2% of the unclassified salaries within that agency. For more information, please contact your agency human resource office. |
