An Act establishing the Kansas local government outdoor
recreation grant program;
prescribing powers, duties and functions for the secretary
of wildlife and parks.
Be it enacted by the Legislature of the State of Kansas:
Section 1. The provisions of sections 1 through 3 and
thereto shall be known and may be cited as the Kansas local
outdoor recreation grant program act.
Sec. 2. As used in the Kansas local government outdoor
(a) ``Local government'' means any county, city or township or
two or more such local governments acting jointly pursuant to
ernmental agreements or as otherwise authorized by statute.
(b) ``Capital improvement project'' means a capital

(c) ``Outdoor recreational facility'' means any public park or

Sec. 3. (a) In accordance with the provisions of this
act, the secretary
of wildlife and parks shall develop and administer a grant program
award grants to Kansas local governments for capital improvements
