69-1-4 Grades necessary to pass examinations.
- Any applicant taking the state board of cosmetology examinations shall be
granted a license authorizing the practice of cosmetology, manicuring, esthetics,
or electrology if the applicant achieves the following examination scores:
- 75% overall in the demonstration and oral;
- 75% in each of the core areas of the demonstration and oral examination;
and
- 75% in the written exam.
- The core areas of the cosmetology exam shall be the following:
- Hair shaping;
- permanent waving;
- chemical relaxing; and
- hair lightening and hair coloring.
- The core areas of the manicuring exam shall be the following:
- Basic manicure;
- sculptured nail;
- nail tip application;
- nail wrap; and
- polish.
- The core areas of the esthetician exam shall be the following:
- Client protection;
- skin cleansing;
- face massaging; and
- face steaming.
- The core areas of the electrology exam shall be the following:
- Client protection;
- thermolosis method;
- blend method; and
- probe insertion.
