Kansas Electric Transmission Authority (KETA) logo

Welcome to the Kansas Electric Transmission Authority

KETA was created in 2005 by enactment of HB 2263. Our mission is to ensure reliable operation of the electrical transmission system, diversify and expand the Kansas economy and facilitate consumption of Kansas energy through improvements in the state's electric transmission infrastructure. The original act was amended by the 2007 Legislature to clarify KETA's authority (2007 HB 2306). The bill became effective April 5, 2007. Statutes governing KETA, including the 2007 amendments, are codified at K.S.A. 74-99d01, et seq.
