We are based in Topeka, Kansas and have been officially organized since 1995. Our current membership is exceeds 200 members. We are an official non-profit organization. Our tax exempt status as a 501(c)(3) organization was granted in 2003. Parts of our paperwork are required to be open for public viewing:

We exists solely for the promotion of acoustic music. We welcome anyone that enjoys acoustic music whether they participate by watching and listening or by jumpin' in and playing themselves.

We meet the fourth Sunday of the month during the months of October to April. We meet in Auburn at the Auburn Community Center (See Note 1). Meeting time is 1-5 p.m. Organized groups perform in a large room with a stage. Four separate rooms are available for jammin'.

In June we put on the Prairie Lake Pickin' Party, our own festival featuring local and regional bands and plenty of pickin' around the festival grounds. Prairie Lake is one mile north and 3.5 miles east of Holton, Kansas. The city has built a small stage in some shade trees of this nice lake. We usually have our annual membership meeting there, and a band scramble to give pickers a chance to meet new people and do short stage performances.

Officers and members of our Board of Directors are elected annually by KPPA membership. The Board of Directors and officers for 2020 are as follows:

Note 1: Auburn is located three miles west of 29th & Wanamaker in Topeka, then 7 miles south.
