Our Military Kids Inc.

The mission of Our Military Kids, Inc. is to ensure that the children (K thru 12) of deployed and severely injured Reserve and National Guard personnel can afford to participate in activities such as youth sports, fine arts and tutoring programs that are so important in their young lives during this stressful time. Based on statistics published by the Department of Defense, an estimated 77,000 children are eligible to participate in and benefit from this grant program.

You may download the application. If you need any help completing the form, please contact Our Military Kids office at 703-734-6654 or via email at OMKInquiry@ourmilitarykids.org.

What are the conditions under which the grants will be awarded?

Documentation validating the amount of the grant request is required. This documentation can be in the form of a program flyer, a URL for the website outlining program fees, or a letter from the organization coordinating the activity or providing the tutoring service. A grant request for tutoring services also requires a letter from the child’s teacher indicating that tutoring would help raise the child’s performance to grade level.

We require proof that the child’s parent is either activated National Guard or Reserve. A copy of the deployment orders or the commander’s contact information will satisfy this requirement. If the child's last name differs from that of the deployed, please provide a copy of the applicant's military dependent I.D. card or a copy of Form 1172, Application for Uniformed Services Identification.

Incomplete or illegible forms will not be accepted and will be returned. The form can be downloaded from this web site.

You must use all funding from us for the purpose stated on your application. Otherwise, we will request a full repayment.

The amount of the grant aid offered will depend on the funding available at the time of application receipt. No grant request or award can exceed $500.

Grant checks will only be made out to the organization noted on the application. There will not be any exceptions.
