KANSAS NATIONAL GUARD PROMOTING THEIR 150TH ANNIVERSARY AT THE LENEXA AND
OVERLAND PARK SAM'S CLUBS
The Kansas National Guard (KSNG) will be promoting their 150th Anniversary
celebration on Saturday and Sunday, June 4 and 5 at the Lenexa Sam's Club location
at 12200 W. 95th Street; and at the Overland Park Sam's Club location at 8300
W. 135th Street on Saturday and Sunday, June 11 and 12. The KSNG will be setting
up their mobile museum along with military vehicles for viewing by the general
public.
As part of fund raising to sponsor their 150th Anniversary events, the 150th Anniversary Committee is supporting the selling of baby back ribs smoked on location by Brownie's BBQ, who was voted Best Tailgate Food at the 2004 KC Chiefs Red Friday Celebration.
In addition, the 150th Anniversary Committee will be offering custom dog tags
to help in their fund raising efforts. The proceeds raised at these promotions
will be used by the 150th Anniversary Committee of the Kansas National Guard
who has established themselves as a non-profit organization, solely for the
promotion and celebration of this significant milestone.
Currently the KSNG has about 1,400 Kansas men and women deployed, most of which
are serving in Iraq. The 150th Anniversary Committee wants to bring the 150th
Anniversary Celebration to the people and businesses in Kansas. In order to
do so, the 150th Anniversary Committee will be facilitating events such as these
throughout the State of Kansas during the remainder of 2005.
