FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE Nov. 2, 2007 No. 07-164 HUTTER, KANSAS NATIONAL GUARDSMAN, TO BE GUEST SPEAKER FOR VETERANS
DAY EVENT IN CLIFTON Lt. Col. John Hutter of the Kansas National Guard will be the guest speaker
for a Veterans Day ceremony in Clifton, Kan., on Sunday, Nov. 11. The
ceremony, sponsored by American Legion Post 227, will begin with a parade
at 2 p.m., followed by a program at Berner Memorial Park. The public is
invited to attend. Hutter is the commander of the Logistics Readiness Squadron, 190th Air
Refueling Wing (ARW), Kansas Air National Guard, Forbes Field, Topeka.
In this position he directs and monitors logistics programs including
readiness, fuels, supply, and transportation activities; and serves as
senior staff adviser to commanders. Hutter began his military career with the U.S. Marine Corps Reserves
in June 1982. In November 1984, he enlisted into the U.S. Air Force in
the Traffic Management Office. In April 1988, Hutter joined the 184th
Tactical Fighter Group, Kansas Air National Guard, as an administrative
clerk. He earned his commission in September 1989 upon completion of Officer
Training at the Academy of Military Science. He transferred to the 190th
Air Refueling Wing in 1994 to serve as the Installation Deployment Officer.
He has been deployed in support of Operation Deny Flight, Operation Northern
Watch, Allied Force and Operation Enduring Freedom. His military assignments with the Kansas Air National Guard have included
clerk typist, transportation officer, logistics plans officer and quality
advisor, all with the 184th Tactical Fighter Group, Wichita, and installation
deployment officer with the 190th ARW. Hutters awards and decorations include the Meritorious Service
Medal, Air Force Commendation Medal, Air Force Achievement Medal, Joint
Meritorious Unit Award, Air Force Outstanding Unit Award with two oak
leaf clusters, Air Force Good Conduct Medal, National Defense Service
Medal, Armed Forces Expeditionary Medal, Armed Forces Service Medal, Air
Force Overseas Short Tour Service Ribbon, Air Force Longevity Service
Award Ribbon with three oak leaf clusters, Armed Forces Reserve Medal
with the M and 3 Device, Small Arms Expert Ribbon
with one star, Air Force Basic Training Ribbon with one oak leaf cluster,
Kansas National Guard Commendation Ribbon and Kansas Air National Guard
Ribbon. Hutter and his wife Cindy have three children Jakob, Dakota Kody
