FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE      April 15, 2008

No. 08-036

HARLEY-DAVIDSON EMPLOYEES WILL GET UP CLOSE LOOK AT KANSAS NATIONAL GUARD AIRCRAFT MAINTENANCE FACILITIES

Employees of the Harley-Davidson dealership in Topeka are used to keeping the motorcycles they service in shape to fly down the road. On April 21, they will get the chance to see how the Kansas National Guard keeps its equipment flying — literally.

Approximately 10 to 15 employees of the Topeka Harley-Davidson dealership will get an up-close look at two Kansas National Guard aircraft maintenance facilities — one Army and one Air — during a special tour on Monday, April 21. The tour is being arranged through the Kansas National Guard Recruiting and Retention Command and Employer Support of the Guard and Reserve in appreciation for the support given by the ownership and employees of Harley-Davidson to the Kansas National Guard.

In addition, two of the dealership’s employees are recent recruits to the Kansas National Guard. Pvt Jesse Poe is a recent honor graduate of the U.S. Army Black Hawk helicopter repair school. He is a member of the 1st Battalion, 108th Aviation. Airman Logan Glenn is a member of the 190th Air Refueling Wing and is currently at the U.S. Air Force Avionics School.
