FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE Aug. 13, 2009 No. 09-088 DALE EARNHARDT JR.’S #88 CITIZEN SOLDIER HOOD TO BE GIVEN TO KANSAN One of Dale Earnhardt Jr.’s #88 NASCAR hoods won’t be taking laps around the track after Friday, Aug. 14, when it’s presented to its new owner, Jonathan Ragan, Ellinwood, Kan. The Citizen Soldier paint-schemed hood, signed by Earnhardt and the band Three Doors Down, will be presented to Ragan at 1 p.m. by members of the Kansas Army National Guard. Col. Tim Marlar, Director of Personnel for the Kansas Army National Guard, will make the presentation. Ragan was chosen at random from the nearly 20,000 members of the Dale Jr. Guard Garage Fan Club. Hendrick Motorsports donated the hood and the National Guard, through DJGG Fan Club, will be awarding it as part of series of Dale Earnhardt Jr. memorabilia contest and drawing prizes. Earnhardt Jr., a third-generation racer, has accumulated multiple wins throughout career. He began racing with the National Guard as a primary co-sponsor in 2008 with Hendrick Motorsports.
