Community Requests
Please note that this information pertains only to communities within the State of Kansas.
The Kansas National Guard supports many community events such as parades, Memorial Day and Veteran's Day ceremonies, etc., by providing military vehicles for parades, cannon salutes, speakers, Military Color Guards and/or static displays or flyovers.
All requests must be submitted at least 60 days before the event.
How to request a UH-60 Black Hawk helicopter flyover/static display
To request a flyover of a Kansas Army National Guard helicopter please fill out the DD2535 - Request for Military Aerial Support (requires Adobe Acrobat Reader). Instructions for completing the DD2535 are located on page 4 of the form. After completing the DD2535, fax it to the Army Office of the Chief of Public Affairs (fax number located on Page 4 bottom right hand corner). If your event has been approved, the Army Office of the Chief of Public Affairs will send you an approval letter.
Once you have received the approval letter, a JFHQ-KS Form 95-R - JFHQ-KS/KSNG Helicopter Training and Operational Support Mission Requests needs to be completed.
Submit the completed DD2535 (along with the approval) and the JFHQ-KS Form 95-R to the State Aviation Officer of Kansas (contact information located on the 95-R.)
The State Aviation Officer's Office will contact you if they are able to support your request.
Please note that approval by the Army Office of the Chief of Public Affairs does not guarantee that the Kansas National Guard will be able to support your request.
How to request a KC-135 stratotanker flyover
To request a flyover of a Kansas Air National Guard KC-135 stratotanker please go to the following website http://www.airshows.pa.hq.af.mil/PublicSite/index.cfm?fwa=home and fill out a request for aerial support on-line.
If your event is approved by the Secretary of the Air Force Public Affairs you will receive an approval letter.
Once the approval has been received then forward both the completed DD2535 and the approval to the Adjutant General's Public Affairs Office by e-mail to NGKSSTAFFPAO@ng.army.mil or by fax 785-274-1622.
The Public Affairs Office will contact you if the Kansas Air National Guard will be able to support your request.
Please note that that approval by Secretary of the Air Force does not guarantee that the Kansas National Guard will be able to support your request.
How to request military equipment static displays/military band/cannon salutes/Military
Color Guard, etc.
To request military support for your community event please fill out the DD2536 - Request for Armed Forces Participation in Public Events (Non-Aviation) (requires Adobe Acrobat Reader) . Instructions for completing the DD2536 are located on page 2 of the form. After completing the DD2536 send it to the Adjutant General's Public Affairs Office by e-mail to NGKSSTAFFPAO@ng.army.mil or by fax 785-274-1622.
