ECONOMIC IMPACT STATEMENT
K.A.R. 63-2-26
I. Summary of Proposed Regulation, Including Its Purpose.
Proposed new regulation K.A.R. 63-2-26 would provide information on the assistant funeral director examination.
II. Reason or Reasons the Proposed Regulation Is Required, Including Whether or Not the Regulation is Mandated by Federal Law.This regulation is not mandated by federal law, and, therefore, the regulation does not exceed the requirements of federal law.
III. Anticipated Economic Impact upon the Kansas State Board of Mortuary Arts.The new fee would constitute new income to the agency. Since this license has previously been available without an examination, it is expected that the number of applicants will decrease–resulting in no additional revenue to the agency.
IV. Anticipated Financial Impact upon Other Governmental Agencies and upon Private Business or Individuals.The Board does not anticipate any economic impact on other governmental agencies.
V. Anticipated Economic Impact upon Licensees or Applicants for Licensure.
There would be an increased cost of $50 per application for an assistant funeral director license.With the agency’s on-going efforts of being fiscally responsible, increased costs and dropping ending balances, no other methods were considered.
