REGISTERED STUDENT EMBALMERS

Last Updated:  Friday, January 29, 2010

The Kansas State Board of Mortuary Arts requires that all mortuary college graduates or mortuary college students that have completed practicum courses and are preparing to graduate and be administered the national examination of the International Conference of Funeral Service Examining Boards (ICFSEB) - which must be passed prior to registering with KSBMA to serve an apprenticeship. Registered student embalmers must be under the direct personal supervision of a licensed Kansas embalmer at all times during the embalming process. The term "direct personal supervision" means that a licensed Kansas embalmer takes full responsibility for actions of the registered student embalmer and shall be physically present at all times during the embalming process (K.S.A. 65-1703). Registration paperwork should be available at the mortuary college and is also available by contacting Mortuary Arts Board Administrative  Specialist Mary Kirkham  (email: boma1@ksbma.state.ks.us, telephone: (785) 296-3980) at the board's Topeka office. There is a $100 fee to register as a Registered Student Embalmer. This fee pays for a period of two years of registration.

The following is a list of all individuals that have registered with the board:
