Title:  Requirements.

(a)(1) Beginning with applications for renewal of licenses that expire on March 31, 1998, each land surveyor shall
have completed 30 professional development hours (PDH) units of acceptable continuing education requirements during the two-year period immediately preceding the biennial renewal date as a condition for license renewal as defined in K.A.R. 66-6-6. If the licensee exceeds the requirement in any renewal period, the licensee may carry a maximum of 30 PDH units forward into the subsequent renewal period.

    (2) Beginning with applications for renewal of licenses that expire on April 30, 2000, each professional
engineer, architect, and landscape architect shall have completed 30 PDH units of acceptable continuing education
requirements during the two-year period immediately preceding each biennial renewal date as a condition for
license renewal as defined in K.A.R. 66-6-6. If a licensee exceeds the requirement in any renewal period, the
licensee may carry a maximum of 30 PDH units forward into the subsequent renewal period.

    (3) Beginning with applications for renewal of licenses that expire on June 30, 2003, each geologist shall have completed 30 PDH units of acceptable continuing education requirements during the two-year period immediately preceding each biennial renewal date as a condition for license renewal as defined in K.A.R. 66-6-6.  If a licensee exceeds the requirement in any renewal period, the licensee may carry a maximum of 30 PDH units forward into the subsequent renewal period.

(b) Continuing education obtained by the licensee shall meet either of the following criteria:

    (1) maintain, improve, or expand technical professional skills and knowledge obtained before initial licensure; or

    (2) develop new and relevant technical professional skills and knowledge.
