STEPS IN THE FE APPLICATION PROCESS
FOR UNDERGRADUATE STUDENTS CURRENTLY ENROLLED

DEGREE PROGRAM AT KSU, KU OR WSU

It is your responsibility to read all of the information below before continuing the application process.
I. Apply to the Kansas State Board of Technical Professions after you reach Junior status. This is a one-time application. You must apply no later than February 1 to take the next April exam and before August 15 to take the next October exam.

II. KSBTP will acknowledge receipt of your application. You will receive a personal e-mail sent to the e-mail address you gave on your form. If you supply an e-mail address and do not get a reply within 24 hours, we did not receive your application. Please try again. (NOTE: If your computer does not have an e-mail identity, you must use the form in Word format. Fill in the form, save it, and send it as an attachment to the e-mail address on the form.)
III. KSBTP will contact your university to verify your student status.
IV. When verification is received KSBTP will send a letter to you, mailed to the current mailing address supplied on your application form, stating that you are approved to sit for the exam. The letter will contain instructions for signing up with NCEES for an exam. It is your responsibility to keep this letter so that you have your Kansas ID# when you are ready to register with NCEES for the exam.
V. Before the registration deadline for ELSES (Exam affiliate of NCEES), go to www.els-examreg.org and follow their instructions for signing up for the exam and paying their fee. You can sign up and pay the fee on-line. Check the web site for exact deadlines.
VI. Notify KSBTP of any address change.
VII Check the NCEES web site, www.ncees.org, for exam fees, future exam dates, and other exam information including exam specifications and calculator policy.
