STEPS IN THE FE APPLICATION PROCESS

FOR UNDERGRADUATE STUDENTS CURRENTLY ENROLLED

IN AN ABET ACCREDITED BACCALAUREATE ENGINEERING

DEGREE PROGRAM AT KSU, KU OR WSU

It is your responsibility to read all of the information below before continuing the application process.

 

I.             Apply to the Kansas State Board of Technical Professions after you reach Junior status. This is a one-time application. You must apply no later than February 1 to take the next April exam and before August 1 to take the next October exam.

II.          KSBTP will acknowledge receipt of your application. You will be notified by an e-mail sent to the e-mail address you gave on your form. The message will not be a reply message. If you supply an e-mail address and you do not get a reply within 24 hours, we did not receive your application. Please try again.

 

III.       KSBTP will contact your university to verify your student status.

 

IV.        When verification is received KSBTP will send a letter to you, mailed to the current mailing address supplied on your application form, stating that you are approved to sit for the exam. The letter will contain instructions for signing up with NCEES for an exam. It is your responsibility to keep this letter so that you have your Kansas ID# when you are ready to register with NCEES for the exam.

 

V. Before March 1 for an April exam, or before Sept. 1 for an October exam, go to the NCEES exam registration web site, https://commerce.ncees.org/elses/state_info.php?state=Kansas and follow their instructions for signing up for the exam and paying their fee. You can sign up on-line and pay by credit card, or find instructions on getting a form to mail in with payment.

 

VI. Notify KSBTP of any address change.

 

VII Check the NCEES website, www.ncees.org, for exam fees, future exam dates, and other exam information including exam specifications and calculator policy.
