RSS Feeds

What is RSS?

Tired of visiting a dozen or more web sites every day to keep up on the news, music, or topics that interest you? Wouldn’t it be great if you could open one web page and see all the latest information on three of your favorite interests?

Use RSS to collect updates from all your favorite web sites so you can read them in one place when it’s convenient for you.

What do I need?

You need two elements: an RSS reader and some RSS links.

Obtain an RSS reader: while some are included with free email accounts like GMail, others are applications you download and install first. The type you select will depend on the browser platform you use to access the internet.

Then, add the feeds you want. Visit a web site you like, and look for the RSS icon on the page. Usually you click on it to add it to your RSS reader. From then on, open the Reader to see the latest headlines from that web site, with the most current at the top.

Why subscribe?

It’s an easy way to check the latest news, blog posts, government press releases, legislative votes, music videos and podcasts from your favorite web sites.
