Kansas requires the following from foreign pharmacists before taking
the NAPLEX and MPJE.
1. Copy of FPGEC
Information about the FPGEE can be obtained from NABP, Foreign Pharmacy
Graduate Examination Committee, 1600 Feehanville Drive, Mt. Prospect,
IL 60056, 847-391-4406, www.nabp.net
2. Passing scores on the TOEFL (iBT) (Writing-24, Speaking-26, Listening-18,
Reading-21) or the TSE (50) and TOEFL (230)
3. 1500 intern hours
Submit a copy of your FPGEC with the
intern application. If your intern hours are in another state, then
request that state to transfer your hours here to Kansas.
4. Submit an Application for Licensure Examination along with $50
If you cannot take the FPGEE because a 5-year degree is needed to qualify,
then there is no other alternative.
68-1-1f Foreign graduates. (a) Each applicant who has graduated from
a school or college of pharmacy or a pharmacy department of a uni-
versity located outside of the United States or who is not a citizen
of the United States shall provide proof that the applicant has reasonable
ability to communicate verbally and in writing with the general public
in English as specified in this regulation.
(b) Each foreign applicant shall be required to meet one og the following
English language requirements for lecensure under the pharmacy act of
the state of Kansas;
(1) Pass the test of English as a foreign language (TOEFL) with a score
of at least 570 and the test of spoken English (TSE) with a score of
at least 50; or
(2) Pass the internet-based TOEFL )iBT) as specified in K.A.R. 68-1-1g.

68-1-1g Internet-based TOEFL. Except as specified in K.A.R. 68-1-1f,
each foreign applicant shall be required to meet the English requirement
for licensure under the pharmacy act of the state of Kansas by passing
the internet-based TOEFL (iBT) with at least the following minimum scores:
(a) 24 in writing;
(b) 26 in speaking;
(c) 18 in listening; and
(d) 21 in reading.

INTERN APPLICATION Submit
your application along with copies of proof of passing the FPGEE or
the TOEFL (iBT). Once you have obtained 1500 intern hours, please call
or e-mail our office and ask for a licensure packet which will start
the process to take the NAPLEX and MPJE.
