Clandestine Laboratory Response Team (CLRT)

The KBI's CLRT was formed in 1990 to safely investigate and dismantle clandestine drug labs. The CLRT is made up of specially trained and equipped special agents and forensic scientists. Together they respond to clandestine laboratory sites that pose unique hazards to people and to the environment. The hazards are the result of the combination of chemicals used in and the by-products that are a result of the manufacturing process. The KBI's CLRT is responsible for reporting to Midwest HIDTA the numbers and locations of methamphetamine labs by Kansas county.
