If you are filing as a nonresident, you must complete Schedule S, Part B. The purpose of Part B is to determine what percentage of your total income from all sources and states is from Kansas.
Part B is divided into two columns. In the left-hand column, enter the amounts directly from your 2025 federal return. In the right-hand column, enter the amounts from Kansas sources.
A part-year resident who files as a nonresident must include income subject to Kansas income tax, unemployment compensation derived from sources in Kansas, any items of income gain or loss, deduction received while a Kansas resident (whether or not these items were from Kansas sources), as well as any income derived from Kansas sources while a nonresident of Kansas.
For more information about the Schedule S or your tax return in general, see the online  Kansas Individual Income Tax booklet.
