KanView Data Download Center

Agency Expenditures or Revenues: KanView agency revenue and expenditure data is presented in summary form. Data may be downloaded by specific state agency for a given fiscal year. Download results include key data elements: agency number and name, funding, program, government function and three levels of account codes.

Vendor Payments: “Checkbook” payments made to vendors are available through KanView. Download results will show payments made to vendors from all state agencies and include the following key data elements: fiscal year, agency (Business Unit), account description, funding, vendor name, document number, payment date and amount. Due to data volumes, downloads are available on a monthly or quarterly basis per each download request. Select the Fiscal Year, then select either the quarter or month. If month is selected KanView ignores any selection of a specific quarter.

Employee Compensation: For fiscal years prior to 2015 the data is displayed on the basis of Pay Rates. Download results include: agency number and name, employee name, job title, pay rate, and frequency of pay. Beginning with fiscal year 2015 pay rate and frequency of pay are replaced with total gross pay and overtime pay. Note that state employees are paid bi-weekly, normally receiving 26 paychecks in a fiscal year. However, due to calendar timing there were 27 pay periods during fiscal year 2017.

Note that employee compensation is subject to certain confidentiality requirements per the KanView Excluded Information Disclaimer. Funding Sources for employee compensation include state, federal, and private dollars

Economic Development Incentives Data: Economic development incentives data can be displayed and downloaded directly from the Economic Development Incentives page.

* Fiscal years are from July 1st through June 30th. KanView data is reported on an accounting basis rather than a budgetary basis as explained in Variance to the State Budget. The totals from the state’s accounting system include transactions such as “non-expense items” that are not recorded as part of the state’s budget.

Downloads may take several minutes depending on the amount of data.
