WARNING *** ALERT *** WARNING
Recently, the Kansas Board of Cosmetology was made aware of a nontuberulous mycobacteria (NTM) skin infection presenting in several individuals who received tattoos in the United States. The CDC reports that multiple states have been affected by this NTM outbreak, linking the infection to contaminated inks which may result from nonsterile water used to dilute the inks.
